Alo Wellness Club is a new hot spot for LA celebrities and influencers

The hottest invitation-only club in Beverly Hills might just be the most stereotypical Los Angeles experience in town.

The club, an exclusive fitness studio located in the corporate headquarters of sports brand Alo Yoga, has become a hot spot for celebrities, influencers and models to work out and network.

Unlike Alo Yoga’s other fitness studios in LA, New York and DC, the wellness club is by invitation only. The studio includes a gym, pilates studio, personal trainers, weight rooms, saunas and cold diving.

Alo Yoga also uses the space to shoot content for its YouTube series “Break the Ice,” where celebrities and influencers, including Benny Blanco and Eva Longoria, answer questions while sitting in a cold depth.

TikTok influencer Jake Shane has posted numerous videos of himself working out at the gym, and on his podcast he’s talked about his experience connecting with celebrities and influencers at the gym, from meeting (and later interviewing) actor Glen Powell to to becoming “training buddies”. with singer Tate McRae.

On the podcast, McRae said she and Shane train with “the craziest people.”

“I keep saying this place, Hello, the gym we work out at, is so LA because we always see these crazy famous people there,” Shane said on the podcast. “It’s the same as seeing them in a club in New York. So it’s like clubbing for New York, but in LA.”

Recently, the gym has become a hot topic online. The internet got a glimpse inside the studios on Instagram and TikTok, and on Reddit, fans discussed the gym’s rise in popularity and speculated what it would take to land an invite.

Lindsey Lee Lugrin, CEO of influencer payment transparency platform FYPM, told Business Insider that while she wasn’t personally invited, she did get a chance to go to the gym in June as a plus one.

There are several trendy workout studios around LA, from group workouts at Hot8Yoga and Barry’s, to high-end gyms like Equinox and Dogpound. But what sets Alo Wellness Club apart from these places is its exclusivity and many facilities, including three cold plunges, cryotherapy, a sauna and a red light therapy room.

Following the lead of SoulCycle and Peloton, Alo Yoga beats celebrity fitness instructors

In addition to networking opportunities, the fitness center has also taken a page out of SoulCycle and Peloton’s playbooks, helping fitness instructors grow an online following simply by associating them with the brand.

For example, Lexi Bader, who has 13,000 Instagram followers and teaches a sculpting class at Alo Wellness Club, said on the “Making Makayla” podcast that she gets “a lot of DMs” from people asking how they can come at the gym. .

“It’s very exclusive and I keep it locked up,” Bader said.

She said on the podcast that she has taught classes for several celebrities, including Lisa Rinna and her daughter Amelia Gray Hamlin. She also said that as far as she knew, the classes were free for invited people.

“When you walk into the entryway, it’s like a fairy tale,” Bader said. “The yoga studio I teach at is so beautiful. They have people who come in and do massages, sculpting massages, lymphatic massages, facials – you get it.”

Alo and Shane did not respond to BI’s request for comment.
