Weather warning for flooding in Hampshire and Hampden counties Sunday at noon

The National Weather Service issued a weather warning at 10:07 a.m. Sunday for flash flooding until noon for Hampshire and Hampden counties.

“At 10:03 a.m., Doppler radar tracked slow-moving heavy rain across western and southwestern Connecticut, moving northeast at 10 mph,” the weather service states. “Minimum. Water heating on roads. Possible isolated cases of street flooding, especially in urban areas.”

Locations affected by the alert include Springfield, Hartford, New Britain, West Hartford, Bristol, Chicopee, East Hartford, Enfield, Westfield, Holyoke, Newington, Windsor, Agawam, West Springfield, Wethersfield, South Windsor, Farmington, Simsbury, Ludlow and Bloomfield.

The weather service states, “Do not drive on flooded roads or underpasses.”
