FARGO — The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks are slated to host the 2025 American Association All-Star game, the professional baseball league announced Thursday, Aug. 22.

The RedHawks are hosting a league all-star game for the first time since 2007 when FM hosted the Northern League All-Star game at Newman Outdoor Field.

“We are extremely excited,” said RedHawks President/CEO Brad Thom. “It’s an honor and thrill to bring an All-Star game back to Fargo-Moorhead after an 18-year wait.”

The 2025 All-Star festivities are slated for July 21 and July 22 at Newman Outdoor Field. Ticket information and the complete details of events will be announced at a later date.

A skills competition and home run derby are slated for July 21 with a luncheon and the game scheduled for July 22. The 2025 All-Star game’s logo features a similar look to the Fargo Theater marquee as a tribute to the historic venue in downtown Fargo.

“It’s an honor to be able to host an all-star game,” said RedHawks vice president/general manager Karl Hoium. “I think a big thing is to showcase Fargo-Moorhead and the support we get from our fans, the community and the surrounding area.”

The RedHawks also hosted a Northern All-Star game in 1999. This is the first time FM has hosted the event since joining the American Association for the 2011 season.

“This is a tremendous opportunity to showcase the passion and dedication of the RedHawks’ incredible fanbase and the vibrant community that supports them,” said American Association commissioner Joshua Schaub.

The RedHawks won their first American Association championship in 2022.

In addition, the RedHawks are celebrating their 30th anniversary season in 2025. FM’s inaugural season came in 1996 in the Northern League.

“It will be a great addition to everything we are planning for that big year next year,” Hoium said.
