City to dedicate Ron Richard Memorial Park – Newstalk KZRG

Senator Ron Richard has been called a true Joplin trail blazer

Now… the city will dedicate a portion of the Campbell Parkway trail and park in his honor to be known as Senator Ron Richard Memorial Park.

The public is invited to attend the ribbon cutting and dedication at 11 am on Friday, Sept. 1 p.m. near E. 15th St. and S. Campbell Parkway.

Richard, a former Joplin Mayor and MSSU graduate, was the only man to hold the position of Speaker of the House and, later, President Pro Tem of the Senate in Missouri.

He passed away in June of 2023.
