Warm and humid Sunday, cooler and refreshing by Labor Day

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – We’re starting this first day of September feeling wet and mild, with temperatures in the upper 60s to near 70s, and dew points in the mid 60s.

We start out with cloudy skies, but we should see the clouds start to break up to allow some sun to break through this afternoon with highs in the low 80s. We also continue to stay very humid with dew points around 70°.

A front is moving through this morning. We are tracking a second cold front; that seems to pass later tonight. Very little humidity, however an isolated shower cannot be ruled out.

The big story with this second front is that it will push through all the unsettled weather and moisture.

Behind the front, strong high pressure sets in and dominates our pattern starting Labor Day and continuing through most of next week! Low humidity and cooler Labor Day, with highs in the mid-70s under mostly sunny skies.

Cooler temperatures continue through at least Thursday, and we’re guaranteed plenty of sunshine all week.

We get a little windier by the end of the week, but we should stay out of the rain. Shower chances increase next weekend and next week.
