Des Moines Airport will temporarily close entry during peak hours. Here’s when

Des Moines International Airport will temporarily close its main entrance Tuesday and early Wednesday due to construction on Fleur Drive, diverting traffic to Leland Avenue south of the terminal.

The gate will be closed between 7pm and 4am, meaning there could be delays for people traveling to or from the airport during peak flight times from 10pm to midnight.

“We strongly encourage passengers traveling to and from the airport during these hours to plan ahead, allow extra time for their journey and remain patient as the city works to improve the infrastructure around our airport,” a statement said. press release.

The Leland Avenue bypass is located less than a quarter-mile from the main entrance, and signs will direct drivers to Duck Pond Road and from there to Terminal Way, the airport said.
