One of the stars of ITV’s This Morning has revealed that if anything happens, she has absolutely no qualms about quitting the show.

In February, it was finally confirmed who would take over as main presenters of the broadcaster’s flagship show following the departure of previous hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

Taking the reins would be Ben Shephard – who hailed from Good Morning Britain – and UK TV legend Cat Deeley – who starred in So You Think You Can Dance? in the US for the past 18 years.

In a new interview, Cat opened up about what it was like to join This Morning, as well as the scrutiny he was put under in the high-profile role.

While the ITV program has seen its viewing figures fall in recent months, the 47-year-old told The Times “I haven’t really thought about it” when asked about the ratings.

After joining This Morning in March, Cat found herself at the center of several headlines, including during an awkward interview with singer Chaka Khan, and when she joked she “had a fit” while dancing on camera, comments for who apologized for after criticism from viewers and Epilepsy Society charities.

Speaking about the seizure joke, Cat said: ‘Obviously I was making fun of myself and my dancing. However, if people took it the wrong way, I’m incredibly sorry.

When asked if the scrutiny she experienced shocked her, she replied: “Yes! Everyone keeps checking on me, “Are you okay? Are you doing well with this?”

She then continued: “I don’t care. I don’t care. If it gets too much for me, I’ll give up. I don’t need to do it. I could stop and be a mum for most of the year and then go and do shows in America. There is no ulterior motive for me to do this.

Cat added that she thinks the intense attention she’s getting is “a very British thing”.

She also shared in the interview that after joining This Morning, Holly sent her some flowers, adding that she hopes to meet up with her “when the dust settles.”

At the upcoming National Television Awards, This Morning is nominated in the daytime category, alongside Deal or No Deal, The Repair Shop, Loose Women and The Chase.

In the TV presenter category, the award-winning personalities are Alison Hammond, Ant and Dec, Claudia Winkleman, Bradley Walsh and Stacey Solomon.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1 and ITVX.
